A 12-story office building converted into a transformational hotel and restaurant that plays with perception.

You don’t need to go far to go somewhere unlike any place you’ve ever been.

Desert Duality

Inspired by a once-in-a-lifetime experience with Dale Chihuly’s installation at the Desert Botanical Garden, at night, in pouring rain, Mira explores the inherent duality of the desert.

Night/day, wet/dry, hot/cold, and smooth/sharp, the desert is full of stark opposites which can transform suddenly - a rainstorm can create rivers in moments and colorful flowers the next day, only to quickly disappear after the storm. Chihuly’s installations add contrasts of light, color, and shine in a way that transforms the environment and those who see it.

This inspired investigations with glass and desert plants.
